As part of the economic recovery, companies are looking for new ways to lift our nation out of recession by maintaining and creating jobs for American workers. Purchasing products that eet the requirements of the Buy American Act helps support jobs across the United States.
Established in 1988, Waterbury, Connecticut based, Eemax, Inc., exhibits true American spirit by manufacturing innovative “green” Electric Tankless Water Heaters that save energy, water, time, space, and money. Many of our products have gone through rigorous analysis to ensure compliance with the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act and its “Buy American” Provision.
President Obama signed the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act into law in 2009. The Recovery Act’s main goals are to:
- Create and save American jobs.
- Stimulate economic activity and invest in long-term economic growth.
- Foster unprecedented levels of accountability and transparency in government spending.
On the Road to Recovery
The Buy American Act was passed in 1933 by Congress and signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. It is the primary statute that governs Federal procurement. The name of this law accurately and succinctly describes its purpose: “To ensure that the Federal Government supports domestic companies and domestic workers by buying American made goods.”
The ARRA includes a “Buy American” Provision which establishes a general preference for purchasing goods produced in the United States. The provision states that consumers who receive federal “Stimulus” funding are required to purchase American-made goods whenever possible, which in turn, protects American workers by saving existing jobs and creating new ones.
When the ARRA (“Stimulus”) bill was passed in 2009, it allocated $6.3 billion for state and local governments to make investments in energy efficiency and conservation and an additional $4.5 billion to boost the energy efficiency of federal buildings. Eemax Electric Tankless Water Heaters are the perfect energy-saving solution for new construction and for green building renovations. They can provide decades of trouble-free performance, can last twice as long as tank heaters which can rust out and need replacing. Installing an Eemax Electric Tankless Water Heater can help you achieve a higher level of greenness in your facility.
In addition, under the North American Free Trade Act, “NAFTA” goods must originate in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. Many Eemax products have obtained NAFTA tariff reference. For a current list of Eemax products that are compliant with prominent “Country of Origin” requirements involved in government procurement, refer to the below chart. Additional products will be listed as they become available.
