Eemax was estbalished in 1988 with a line of tankless heaters for commercial applications ranging in size from .5gpm to about 1.5gpm. The original Eemax technology was patented and quickly emerged as the most flexible technology on the marjet, which was a critical factor in the early stages of the development of the US market for electric tankless heaters. Throughout the United States there is a wide variation in climate and the temperature of its groundwater and municipal water supplies. At that time there were no tankless water heaters on the market to serve the different temperate zones ini this country. Manufacturers were unwilling to produce or stock the many product configurations that were needed to cover the US market. Eemax's first product, the 9.5 kW Flow Control, was developed in 1989 as a simple on/off device for hand-washing applications. Through this patented modular design, however, other units with electronic thermostats, adjustable flow,-"fittings and up to 277 volt capacities were added to the line early on, which expanded the served market for electric tankless heaters by the early 1990's. Eemeax expanded its market leadership position throughout the 1990's by continued expansion of its product line to address higher flow rate applications. With the new Eemax line of Series Two and Series Three heaters, a wide range of hot water commercial applications could be addressed from 1.5 up to 5gpm. Right after the turn of the century, Eemax responded to an emerging demand for electric tankless heaters with the introduction of a line of residential products so that consumers could enjoy the benefits of tankless heating. Over the last five years Eemax has established a leadership position in the residential market to complement its commercial business. Three years ago Eemax further enhanced its position of the dominant supplier for commercial applications with the introduction of its patented Series Six and Series Twelve family of high capacity heaters. These products are designed for commercial and industrial applications from 6 to 25+ gpm. In addition, there are models within this product category specifically designed for point-of-use emergency safety equipment applications, including safety eye, face and shower systems.
